Anthony “AJ” Puccia

Resort Sommelier and Wine Director

Resort Sommelier and Wine Director Anthony “AJ” Puccia grew up on small farm on the St. Lawrence River that focused on a hospitality-driven culture and exceptional guest experience. He learned early on the power of hard work, quality products and creating lasting memories for clients from around the world.

Wanderlust and a love of backcountry skiing led him to Jackson Hole following his time at university. He was attracted to join Four Seasons based on the brand’s reputation as a leader in the hospitality industry – both in service culture and product.

“I saw Four Seasons as the pinnacle of product, culture and hospitality – that was the deciding factor,” says Puccia. “Working with professional, motivated and inspiring team is what has kept me with the company for two decades.”

Puccia delights in seeing guests explore the natural beauty of the Tetons, and in turn, relax and enjoy their time breaking bread and drinking wine together in the restaurants.

“Nothing gives me more joy than seeing a guest have the ‘perfect’ day that combines the wonders of the Tetons and the beautiful food, beverage, and hospitality of our many outlets,” says Puccia.

As the Resort Sommelier, Puccia guides the wine program at all of the outlets, including the new Steadfire modern chophouse. Puccia works meticulously to provide the highest quality wine and beverage experience, drawing upon his extensive travel to more than 200 wineries worldwide, concentrating on France, Italy, California, Chile and New Zealand. His deep understanding of the winemaking process – stemming from guiding operations at Jackson Hole Winery and overseeing more than 15 harvests firsthand – helps him select the exact depth and breadth of wine options for each outlet.

“I always aim to build upon our legacy and reputation as the finest dining food and beverage experience in the Mountain West,” he says.

Aside from his passion for wine, Puccia is an avid and talented skier. He went to a Winter Olympic Sports Academy dedicated to alpine ski racing. After his successful racing career concluded, he became a backcountry helicopter ski guide in Alaska and achieved multiple certifications in outdoor navigation and medicine. While he does not work with guiding anymore, he still loves sharing his passion for skiing with friends and family.

As a resident of Jackson for nearly two decades, Puccia love to explore the endless backcountry skiing throughout the greater Teton Range during the winter, and in the summers do the same via bicycle. He enjoys the lakes and rivers as well in the National Parks. In his leisure time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and daughters, eating outside at their favorite local restaurants and planning frequent camping adventures.

Puccia’s motto for success is simple: “Wake up early, do great work, and go to bed tired.”
